Nectar should be applied immediately after your Morpheus8 treatment and daily in between sessions. For optimal skin recovery, use EltaMD Skin Recovery 24 hours post-treatment with an ultra-nourishing moisturizer. Avoid using retinols, tretinoin, or products containing AHA/BHA (such as salicylic acid, lactic acid, and glycolic acid) for one week prior to your treatment. Additionally, refrain from blood-thinning medications like aspirin, ibuprofen/Advil, Motrin, fish oil, Omega 3, Vitamin E, and Vitamin A.
What to Expect
Redness for 1-3 days is normal; however, for more aggressive Morpheus8 treatments, this may last longer. To help camouflage the redness, our Jane Iredale makeup or SkinBetter Tone Smart palette can be used. Mild to moderate swelling can occur and last up to 3-5 days. You can minimize swelling by sleeping elevated at night and taking a daily antihistamine (such as Benadryl, Zyrtec, or Allegra). The skin may have a sandpaper rough texture for 7-14 days. Some patients may experience tiny whiteheads or petechiae. You will start to see results as your skin begins to heal, but the best results are typically achieved after 3-4 treatments. Your provider will recommend the number of sessions needed to reach your beauty goals; however, most individuals require an average of three sessions for maximum effect.
Post-care instructions
Step 1: Wash with a gentle cleanser.
Step 2: Apply Alastin Nectar.
Step 3: Apply SkinBetter Trio Moisturizer or Alastin Ultra Nourishing.
Step 4: Use SPF in the AM only.
For the first 7 days, only apply mineral or clean makeup to your skin, such as Jane Iredale. After 72 hours, you may restart your pigment corrector (like Hydroquinone, Alastin Illuminate, or SkinBetter Even Tone Corrector). You can resume your retinol or tretinoin products once your redness resolves, typically 7-10 days following treatment. For additional redness reduction, our EltaMD skin recovery products can be used.
