Tattoo Removal

Safely and affectively treat unwanted tattoos of all colors in half the sessions that is typically needed with other competitor’s machines, using the Harmony XL PRO. The developments in technology have not only made the process safer, but also quicker. A process that once took several visits, now can be done in as little as two to four visits.

Most physicians today consider laser surgery one of the best methods for tattoo removal. The NEW Q-switched Nd:YAG Haromny XL PRO by ALMA is the most frequently used laser for tattoo removal.

Why is Alma’s tattoo removal treatment different?

The Harmony XL Pro can remove not only black ink but also works on greens, blues, reds and yellows. You can now safely remove all colors.

What can you expect from the Harmony XL PRO tattoo removal treatment?

During treatment, pulses of light from the laser are directed onto the tattoo breaking up the tattoo pigment. This process creates a superficial skin wound. There is immediate whitening of the treated area, which usually lasts for several minutes. Depending on the size of the tattoo being treated, most treatments take less than 5-10 minutes to complete. Larger tattoos can extend to 15-30 minutes.

Over the next several weeks the body's macrophages remove the treated pigment. However, most ink requires a few weeks to see the effects of the laser treatment. Some patients may experience bruising or swelling. Many clients then develop blisters, crusts, or scabs within 8 to 72 hours, which may last for 1 to 2 weeks or more. The treated areas may be pink or pale after the scab separates. Hypertrophic or even keloid scarring can occur but is exceptionally rare.

What happens after the tattoo removal treatment?

Healing is usually complete within 4-8 weeks, although this may vary. We recommend 8-10 weeks between each treatment session. Your body will begin drawing the old ink out of the tattooed area as soon as it gets treated. It will continue to do so for up to 5 or 6 weeks. As such, experience and studies have shown it to be unnecessary to re-treat an area prior to this time. The time between each session also allows the treated area to heal properly.

  • A cold compress and elevation are recommended to help reduce discomfort and inflammation for the next 24 hours.

  • Avoid physical activity, hot showers and saunas For the next 24 hours.

  • Apply Aquaphor, Neosporin, Polysporin, Silvadine or A&D Ointment with bandage for the next 2 weeks. Change the dressing daily.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure, hot tubs, pool water and salt water until tattoo is healed (roughly 1-2 weeks). AVOID HIGH-PRESSURE WATER ON THE TREATED AREA.

  • Keep the treated area clean and dry while it is healing. Clean the area with antibacterial soap if needed and then pat the area dry.

  • Immediately after treatment, there may be erythema (redness) and edema (swelling) at the treatment site. This usually lasts 1-2 hours or longer. The erythema may last up to 10 days. Some scabbing, blistering, light bleeding and itching may occur.

  • If you do blister, DO NOT pop, continue to apply one of the recommended ointments until the blister has popped naturally.

  • Do not pick at the scab or allow the skin to become dry or scrapped, this may result in infection and scarring. Shaving should be avoided in the treated area until it is COMPLETELY healed (7-14 days)

  • You may notice that blistering may occur in some treatments and not in others. If blistering does not occur, it does not mean that your most recent treatment was less aggressive or your treatment is not working. Sometimes your body will react, while other times it will not. Regardless, the treatment is working.

  • You may take only Tylenol to help with discomfort. Avoid aspirins, ibuprofens and naproxen’s because they may increase the risk of bruising and/bleeding.

  • MUST apply sunscreen everyday to the treated area after the tattoo has completely healed (7-14 days). Sun will travel through clothing. The use of sunscreen everyday on the area will also help the ink absorb and help with itching.

  • No active tan, self-tanner, bronzers or spray tan 4-6 weeks before and after treatment.
